[TORONTO]—Athletes at the highest levels of their sport always want just one more chance at greatness.  The highly ranked curling squad of Team Epping will get that chance tonight when they face off VS Team Bottcher in the Wild Card Game to kick off the Tim Hortons Brier in Brandon, Manitoba.

“It’s going to be intense  – nationally televised as the only game tonight, packed house and all of the teams likely watching to see who’s going to join the field,” said Team Epping skip John Epping. “It’s tough to pack and tough for your family members to plan for the week in case you don’t make it but my guys are pumped for the opportunity and we plan on showing everyone our best tonight on the fresh ice.”

Created to ensure as many of the top teams in the country as possible will compete in The Brier, Team Epping and Team Bottcher are the highest ranked teams in Canada that didn’t secure a spot in their provincial finals.  The winner joins The Brier field and the loser will turn around and head back home.

Epping added – “We’ve played well this year when our backs are against the wall and if we can do it again tonight we believe we can make some noise for the rest of the tournament.”
